As I arise to start another day, coffee in hand, I gaze out my window. A thick morning fog is coming in off the lake. How many of you are like that? Are you caught in a fog of despair, depression, addiction, marital strife?
I am struck by the beauty of the fog and the blessings, such as a freshwater coating every morning to prevent drought. See, it's all about perspective. We can focus on the negative or choose to see the positive.
Today, I chose to see the positive, soak in the stillness of the morning, and wrap myself in its peaceful blanket. I did not realize this overnight; it was years of getting the “junk out of my trunk.”
How did I do it? How can you get to that positive place of peaceful reflection amid the world's chaos?
I can show you. Follow me to the place of stillness and rest. What’s that, you are afraid? Fear does not come from Christ. There is no fear in perfect love—only peace and joy like you have never known.
Seek, knock, ask; He is waiting. What does His Word say?
7: “Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you.
8: "For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it shall be opened.
9: “For what man among you, when his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?
10: Or when he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
11: If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
12: So in all things, do to others what you would want them to do to you—for this is the Torah and the Prophets.
Ask, Seek, Knock
7: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
8: For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
9: “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10: Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
11: If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
12: So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
