Are you waiting?

Are you waiting? Waiting to bring in a net full of fish? Throw after throw, hour after hour, you wait and put your trust in something you hope for but can not see. Faith is like that: believing and hoping for something you can not see but know with confidence it exists and brings an abundance, unlike anything you can ask, think, or imagine.

You do not see all the fish under the water as you cast out that net, but you know they exist. How, why, because of your experience.

Faith is like that, drawing from a wellspring of living water of promises poured out time after time when facing a difficult task, impossible situation, illness, or trial. What does God's Word say about faith in action?

New International Version

The Cost of Following Jesus

57: As they were walking along the road, a man said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.”

58: Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

59: He said to another man, “Follow me.”But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”

60: Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”

61: Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.”

62: Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”

When God calls you to a purposeful path of service, you can be sure you will face a trial. Focus on the Promise Maker and not the trial. Focus on Jesus to light your path and direct your steps. Do not focus on the cost of following Christ; focus on the burden bearer, the healer, the advocate, the comforter. When you focus on the Light in any situation, the Light will always overcome the darkness.

Bountiful blessings of Kingdom wealth will follow. Peace, joy, love, wisdom, discernment, and an ability to be still, living in the moment instead of just existing a certainty. Trust me, I know. I am living a life of this type of Kingdom wealth. Blessed beyond measure, grateful.

Will we still face trials, of course, because we live in a dark, evil world? Thriving despite this realization, Yes! Follow me; I know the way. Christ set me free, and you can be set free, too.
